Full Force - Smoove

Full Force is a group of R&B and Hip Hop performers and producers from Brooklyn, New York, calling themselves "the original hip hop vocal band".They have produced and written music for such diverse artists as UTFO, Doctor Ice, Samantha Fox, Patti LaBelle, Jasmine Guy, The Force M.D.s, Britney Spears, James Brown, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, Backstreet Boys, La Toya Jackson, and Selena. The Black Eyed Peas' worldwide hit "Don't Phunk With My Heart" was also written as a collaboration between Full Force and will.i.am of the Peas. Full Force wrote and produced most of the singles from La Toya Jackson's fifth studio album La Toya, including "You're Gonna Get Rocked!", "You Blew", and "Such a Wicked Love", as well as Patti LaBelle's track "I Got It Like That", for which they also provided prominent background vocals, from her 1989 album, Be Yourself.

LL Cool J - Around The Way Girl

LL released Mama Said Knock You Out Album, generally leaning towards a tough street image. The record reestablished his reputation in the hip-hop community. It spawned three hit singles, "The Boomin' System," "Around the Way Girl," and the title track, which received special notice after LL Cool J's dynamic performance of it during an episode of MTV Unplugged. It was also featured in the film The Hard Way. The album included themes of police misconduct (Illegal Search), spirituality (Power of God), his career troubles ("Cheesy Rat Blues"), along with back-to-basics hip-hop party rocking and balladry ("Around the Way Girl"). Mama Said... eventually went on to sell over 2,700,000 copies. It marked the first of many self-reinventions LL Cool J would undergo to adapt to hip-hop's often changing atmosphere.

Tony Terry - Tony Terry

Terry landed backup singing jobs for the R&B/pop group Sweet Sensation and hip-hop group The Boogie Boys. In 1987, he signed a record deal with Epic/CBS Records. Terry's first single, "She's Fly", was released the same year, and peaked at number 10 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart. Forever Yours, Terry's debut album for Epic, was released in 1988, and reached the Top 30 of Billboard's R&B albums chart. The follow-up single, "Lovey Dovey", hit number-four on the R&B charts. The single Forever Yours reached the R&B Top 20. Terry's second album, a self-titled release, included the single "With You" (his biggest hit) which reached the Top Twenty of the U.S. pop chart, as well as the Top Ten on the R&B chart. "Everlasting Love", a number-six R&B hit, was also successful on the R&B chart. After leaving Epic, Terry moved over to Virgin Records. His debut album for the label was 1994's Heart Of A Man. The single, "When A Man Cries", just managed the R&B Top 40, and the album was a commercial failure in terms of sales. The following year, Terry contributed background vocals on the single "Gotta Have Love", from Yolanda Adams's album More Than A Melody. He also appeared in the video. He has performed on the soundtracks to Gladiator starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., Tap starring Gregory Hines and King's Ransom starring Anthony Anderson. In 1991, Terry earned two “Soul Train Music Awards” nominations: Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for “With You” but did not win.

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Babylon By Bus

Babylon By Bus is a live album released by Bob Marley & The Wailers in 1978. The album was recorded mostly at the Pavillon de Paris in June 1978, during the Kaya Tour. Like the 1973 album Catch A Fire, the first release had something of a novelty cover. The windows of the bus on the front cover were cut out, revealing part of the inner sleeve. As this was a double album, the listener had a choice of four different scenes to view through the windows.

Derek B - Bad Young Brother / Good Groove

When he was 15, he started DJing in a mobile unit around London, before joining local pirate radio stations such as Kiss FM and LWR and finally starting his own station, WBLS (not to be confused with the radio station of the same name in New York). He joined Simon Harris' Music of Life as the closest thing they had to an A&R man. When a planned compilation of U.S. hip hop called Def Beats 1 (Music of Life, 1986) ran short of tracks, Boland stepped in to record a track called "Rock the Beat". He co-produced the track with Simon Harris, rapped on it under the pseudonym EZQ and also did his own DJing under the Derek B name. "Rock the Beat" (Music of Life, 1987) was released as a single, and followed by two more - the most successful of which was "Good Groove" (Music of Life, 1988) which reached number 16 in the UK Singles Chart, as well as "Bad Young Brother", which also reached number 16.

Sybil - Sybil

Sybil has been recording since 1986 and is best known for her covers of Dionne Warwick's hits "Don't Make Me Over" and "Walk On By", which were released in 1989 and 1990 respectively. They were both Top 20 successes on the UK Singles Chart with the latter being the highest charting position for this Burt Bacharach/Hal David classic (No. 6), narrowly beating Gabrielle's version which made No. 7 in 1997. However, it was when she signed with the UK songwriters/record producers Stock Aitken Waterman, that Sybil had the biggest success, and was particularly popular in the UK. She had two huge Top 5 smashes in 1993 - the first a version of "The Love I Lost", originally a No. 21 hit for Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes, made No. 3 and the second, "When I'm Good And Ready," an original song penned by Mike Stock and Pete Waterman reached No. 5.
