This album did not sell all that well. This album's singles did not get all that much airplay on the radio. It is a crime that this album did not get the accolades it deserved. This came out in a time where P. Diddy (or Puff Daddy as he was called then) was at his peak, running the airwaves with music full of samples. If this had been released maybe a year later, it would have probably sold ten times what it did, and there would have been Grammy nominations all around. People were simply not ready to hear something of this quality. This is the most amazing contemporary R&B album around. The group is basically a throw-back to the soul singers of the 50's and 60's. They harmonize as beautifully as The Temptations and the Four Tops, while providing a powerful emotion to the lead vocals not heard since Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye. They do not shy away from comparisons to the legends, they invite them by giving the listener acapella interludes to some of Cookes greatest hits in between their own.
